Hi, my name is Daniel!
Over my two decades of dedication to ballet, I found a love for photography. I was initially drawn to celebrate moments of ballets I had performed in and give them life beyond my memory. Through several injuries, it provided a way for me to stay connected with ballet while I was unable to dance. Today, photography has become a further medium to express my love for an art form that has transcendentally shaped my life.
My journey with photography began with a treasured FED 3, a soviet film camera inherited from my grandmother. My first DSLR was a 21st birthday gift from my parents which was accompanied by many hours of patient advice from my brother to help familiarize me with its controls. I was brought into the world of studio photography by my mother-in-law in the form of both equipment and guidance. Whether in front of my camera or behind it, my wife has been a driving force and inspiration in my development as a photographer. The contributions of my family have shaped my work and I'm reminded of their impact every time I pick up a camera.
“Art is a personal gift that changes the recipient. The medium doesn’t matter. The intent does.”
